Hong Kong's Rosewood Hotel is barely a week sometime, but it has already hosted a high-profile wedding: That of Thaksin Shinawatra's youngest daughter Paetongtarn "Ing" Shinawatra and professional pilot Pidok Sooksawas.

The property opened on Sunday (Mar 17), while the wedding was held on Friday. That the Shinawatras chose to gloat the momentous occasion in that location speaks of the calibre of guests that the Rosewood make is known to attract.

Not that the hotel'due south developers are whatever stranger to publicity. The Rosewood Hotel Group'south CEO is Sonia Cheng, whose late grandfather Dr Cheng Yu-tung built an empire that made the family one of Asia'south wealthiest. The hotel'southward contemporary French and Chinese fine-dining venues – L'Envol and Run – are led by Michelin-starred chefs. In the St Regis Bar, cocktails are complemented by alive jazz music, while the Drawing Room serves a traditional Afternoon Tea that can too be enjoyed on an bordering terrace.

And for the benefit of fatigued travellers, rooms and suites come with personalised in-room bank check-in and the 24-hour attention of butler and e-butler service.
